Winter Hair Woes

Have you noticed your hair and scalp change this winter?

You're not the only one!

Here's some changes clients have noticed with their hair this winter:

Dry scalp:

There is actually dandruff that only occurs due to central heating. And it’s caused not by the typical triggers for dandruff, but by a dehydrated scalp.

We recommend swapping out your regular shampoo and try using a shampoo that is designed for dry scalps. You may even want to try washing your hair less so your natural oils can sit on your scalp, keeping it hydrated and protect your scalp against the dry air!

Static hair:

Did you just finish styling your hair and it looks like you've just been electrocuted?

Well, did you know that when your hair is static, it's actually so dehydrated that it's reaching out to look for moisture!

Try using a leave-in finishing product that contains moisture, for example a nourishing serum that you can put onto dry hair. Your static hair will instantly disappear!

Hair that feels like straw and it keeps getting tangled:

Is your hair constantly getting tangled and is feeling really dry and brittle?

Wearing scarves and zip up jackets cause friction on your hair which causes it to get tangled and as it gets colder outside, moisture levels start to drop and the winter air ends up drying out your hair and skin. It also doesn't help sitting by the fireplace or using a heat pump!

Upgrade your conditioner and start using a hydrating treatment once a week. Make sure to leave it on in the shower for a few minutes before rinsing.

Your hair will thank you for it!
